SuperContest contestants may submit their weekly selections via the SuperBook mobile app. Contestants must be in the State of Nevada to utilize and all mobile app selections must be made by the Saturday, 6PM deadline. The weekly deadline for all SuperContest selections submitted at the counter are due 11PM Saturdays.
Beginning as soon as the current coronavirus casino closures allow, the Superbook will start offering both onsite and online / mobile sports betting in Colorado.
The expansion was made possible by a recently announced partnership with The Lodge Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado, along with The Lodge parent company Jacobs Entertainment.
Colorado’s newly legalized sports betting industry was authorized by the state Legislature last May, and voters narrowly approved an associated ballot measure last November.
And even as other jurisdictions have delayed their own legal sports betting launches, the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission (LGCC) has stated its intention to go live with online / mobile wagering by its scheduled launch date of May 1.
Stakeholders Celebrate SuperBook’s First Expansion Out of Sin City
The Westgate SuperBook – formerly known as the Las Vegas Hilton SuperBook – is the largest race and sports betting facility in the world at 30,000 square feet. The venue is also home to the world’s largest indoor video wall, a 240 foot by 20 foot monument to live sports action.

And while his new SuperBook branded bet shop won’t be nearly as expansive, JJ Garcia – who serves as vice president of operations for The Lodge & Gilpin Casinos – is excited to bring a worldwide favorite for bettors to the Centennial State.
In a jointly issued press release, Garcia praised SuperBook vice president of operations Jay Kornegay as the perfect partner for The Lodge:
“Having Jay Kornegay lead this exciting opportunity is an added benefit Colorado fans are sure to appreciate.”
Kornegay pledged to bring the SuperBook’s industry leading oddsmaking expertise and technological innovations to the Colorado market:
“We believe The Lodge is a perfect fit for our initial expansion opportunities outside Las Vegas.
We have maintained the highest levels of technology and service in a highly-regulated industry.
We have written the playbook on sports betting in the United States, and now we will put it in action in Colorado.”
Kornegay knows the local appetite for legal sports betting firsthand, having grown up in Denver and Colorado Springs, before graduating from Colorado State University in 1987.
In an interview with SportsHandle, the longtime Denver Broncos fan and renowned bookmaker explained why his home state was the first pick for the SuperBook’s eventual national expansion:
“It’s something we’ve been working on for a while.

SuperBook is not looking to operate in every state, just the jurisdictions that make financial sense. The Colorado deal, we’ve been working on it for months.
Things got tripped up over the last couple of months because of other things in our world, but we’ve come to an agreement.”
As Kornegay alluded to, sportsbooks nationwide have been forced to adjust their online / mobile offerings (where available) in response to the coronavirus pandemic’s suspension of the worldwide sports schedule.
Colorado Bettors Can Look Forward to Their Own NFL Supercontest
Along with its record-setting venue within the Westgate, the SuperBook is best known for running the famed NFL SuperContest.
For an entry fee of $1,500, pro football handicappers compete over the course of the NFL season by picking games against the spread (ATS). The top 100 finishers from a field of thousands receive prize money, with last year’s winner Eric Kahane cashing in for the first place payout of over $1.4 million.

Kornegay has confirmed plans to offer a similarly structured SuperContest across Colorado via the SuperBook’s planned online / mobile app.
The casinos operating in Colorado are in remote areas, unlike Nevada and the Strip. They are mountain towns, so the remote signup option Coloradans have for mobile apps is vital. To have that convenience of signing up for a mobile app from your couch rather than go to a physical location like you do in Nevada is big. Most of our handle (in Colorado), 95 percent will be mobile.

Kornegay also told SportsHandle that, given Colorado’s cluster of casinos in three mountain towns, the SuperBook at The Lodge expects most of its handle to originate from online / mobile wagering:
